Minnesota Land Rover History
The Minnesota Land Rover Club was founded in 1984, below is a short history of the club

1984 |
The first gathering of Land Rover owners in Minnesota was on Wednesday, July 25th 1984 at Brighton Beach in Duluth Minnesota. Attendees were Ed Beaver, Bill Osterhiem and Andy Goldfine. All vehicles were series Land Rovers |
1985 |
2nd MNLR Annual Picnic occurred at St Croix State Forest, in Wisconsin |
1986 |
3rd MNLR Annual Picnic occurred at Lake Wisota, in Wisconsin |
1991 |
During the Spring meeting at Bill Osterhiem's home, those who attended chose the name for the club as North Woods Land Rover Club |
1993 |
Bill Osterhiem, who apart from being one of the founders of the club, had organized most of events, was transfered to Texas by his employer. Bill then entrusted the running of the club to Charlie Malachek.
Charlie also became the unoffical president. John Duggan brings first Range Rover to the Annual Picnic |
1994 |
The club now reached 25 members |
1998 |
The members changed the name of the club to the Minnesota Land Rover Club. The club attends the first National Land Rover Rally hosted by the Solihull Society in Steamboat Springs, CO. |
1999 |
First Ice Driving event held by the club and membership reached 47 member families |
2001 |
The Gilbert OHV Park is opened |
2004 |
Dave Sherwood is elected President of the Minnesota Land Rover Club, after Charlie Malachek steps down after 11 years. |
2009 |
Allton's holds first MNLR Pool Party |
2010 |
Eric Pavvola is elected President of the Minnesota Land Rover Club, after Adam Ruben steps down after 11 years. |
2012 |
David Allton is elected President of the Minnesota Land Rover Club, after Eric Pavvola. |
